  • Provide a letter from your auditor or external accountant confirming that the entity is solvent.

    • The letter must be signed by an independent auditor or external accountant based in Australia.
    • A letter signed by your organisation’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer or Director(s) will not be accepted.
    • The letter must also be specific to the registered entity and include the name and ABN of that entity. A letter for a parent company or consolidated group, or a guarantee from a parent company will not be accepted.
    • You do not need to provide specific financial details or statements.
    • For trust applications with a corporate trustee, please ensure the statement of solvency letter confirms that both the trust and the corporate trustee are solvent.
    • For trust applications with an individual trustee, please ensure the statement of solvency letter confirms that the individual trustee is solvent.

    A template letter can be found at Appendix B of the Guidelines for Consultants document. Use of the template is not compulsory, however it is recommended that you provide a copy to your auditor or external accountant, as it outlines the key points that must be confirmed.

    2. Acknowledge that the Treasury will seek information from third parties, including undertaking credit checks, as part of the assessment process.

    4. Agree to comply with and ensure that all employees, sub-consultants and agents comply with the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2022, and the Work Health and Safety Regulations 2022, and all other Acts, regulations, local laws and bylaws, Codes of Practice and any other instructions made under any Act or subordinate legislation, whether State or Federal which are in any way applicable to the performance of the consultant’s services.

    5. Undertake to promptly advise the Treasury of any relevant changes to the applicant’s circumstances or the information contained in this application and/or provided by the company accountant, including adverse changes to the financial position of the business, for the duration of the prequalification period should prequalification be approved.

    6. Consent to the publication of select registration information in the Building and Construction Prequalification Register on the Winning Government Business section of the Tasmanian Government Purchasing website.

    7. Acknowledge that prequalification does not guarantee that a consultant will be invited to undertake work for the Tasmanian Government.

    8. Acknowledge that Treasury reserves the right to revoke, downgrade or suspend a consultant’s prequalification status based on new information obtained during the registration period.
